Sulphur Pile and Ladder
A perfectly rectangular cut in one of the massive sulphur storage piles adjacent to the Syncrude’s Mildred Lake upgrader/refinery north of Fort McMurray, Alberta. In 2011 the established reserves of elemental sulphur in the province were estimated to be 173.1 million tonnes. The average price of sulphur in 2011 was US$214 per tonne.
